Firecreek Australian Shepherds ASCA Hall of Fame Kennel
Agility is indeed the ultimate dog sport and the fastest growing dog sport in the Nation. My exposure to the sport began in 1993 when Stuart Mah said if we could get 5 dogs together, he would start a class. One class became many as the sport
rapidly increased in popularity. Agility training centers sprang up just as
quickly as the sport grew in popularity. The number of dogs
competing went from 50-70 to 300+ at each trial. It took me two years of training before I was brave enough to remove leash and collar to run my stud dog "naked". After
much coaxing, I attended my first trial with several fellow students. Having never even been to a trial to watch, we were
totally clueless! However, we were very surprised and found agility competition a refreshing change. There was no need to "dress up", the atmosphere was casual and relaxed and the
trial
committee and exhibitors were friendly and helpful. Even more important (despite
the pre-run nerves) we had fun! My runs were less than spectacular but I was
immediately addicted to the sport. I am currently competing with dogs
number 6 and 7, grand children of my first agility dog "Otto", and
instructing classes as well. Please enjoy the photographs of Firecreek dogs in
action and
our agility class information as well as the links to other agility sites.

of the "bridge) AD, AX, AXJ, RS-E, JS-0, GS-O, EAC, OJC, OGC (Ch. Just a Gigolo of Royalty x Ch. Firecreek's Wishful Thinking)
"Otto" was my first agility dog, the beginning of my agility addiction and sire of most of my agility dogs to follow. Otto
possesses an uncanny intelligence and biddability. His offspring have earned numerous
breed, obedience and agility accomplishments
enabling him to achieve ASCA Hall of Fame status. Photo shows 21.5 " tall Otto taking a 30" triple
jump during USDAA competition. Otto crossed over the bridge in March of 2007 at
nearly 16 years of age. He left many fond memories and accomplished offspring
with us.

"Buddy" was introduced to agility
as a young dog to overcome his shyness and soon excelled in the sport. To date he is the most accomplished agility dog in our
kennel. Buddy was a consistent qualifier in the USDAA Grand Prix he was also Top
10 (3rd Place) Excellent 24" USASA 1997,1998, 4th place Excellent B Standard and
Jumpers With Weaves in 2000 and top 10 several years in a row with ASCA until
retired in 2001. Buddy was also the High In Trial Agility dog at the 1996 ASCA National
Specialty in Oregon. Buddy left us to cross over the bridge on April 8,2005.

"Cherri", a happy dog that has never met a stranger. She gave her all in competition, leaving me in the dust on many occasions until arthritis terminated her career early on. Cherri was
consistently in the ribbons, a USDAA Grand Prix qualifier in 2001, Top 10 (5th
place) Novice B 20" USASA 1998 and Top 10 (2nd place) Open 20" Standard USASA in 2000.
